V. A. Gromov Local History Museum
About museum
On May 7, 1967 the museum was officially opened; it comprises seven exhibition halls and two exhibition rooms. The exhibition themes cover the geological past, the trades of the Sergach uyezd, a peasant izba, a nobleman's room, Orthodox Rus', the history of the war, the Sergach land and the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The museum staff conduct research and publish their materials in various publications. They also provide methodological support to residents of Sergach in preparing essays, diploma theses and lessons. Museum employees collect and supply information about the villages, institutions and buildings of the town. They actively cooperate with the district library, the leisure center, and children's art and music schools.
