The Gusev Historical and Local History Museum was founded on December 1, 1992, and is named after its director, local historian and geography teacher Alexander Mikhailovich Ivanov. It is housed in a building constructed at the end of the 19th century that has been designated a cultural heritage site. The museum's exhibition was created following modern trends and presents the history of the Gusev region from ancient times to the end of the 20th century. It features permanent displays on various topics as well as open-air exhibitions on the museum grounds. On the first floor are the Large and Small exhibition halls, a café-shop and other facilities.
