About museum
V.P. Astafyev Library-Museum was established in the writer's homeland, the village of Ovsyanka, on the initiative of and with the support of the writer himself. By Viktor Petrovich's will, his manuscripts and personal archives are kept in the library-museum. In addition, the BMA houses archival collections related to people close to him.

\r\nThe book collection of the Library-Museum comprises over 31,000 items. Regular readers of the BMA number more than 2,000 residents of the village of Ovsyanka and the settlement of Sliznevo, as well as students, lecturers, and literary scholars from Krasnoyarsk and Divnogorsk.
\r\n
\r\nThe main task of the Astafyev Library-Museum is the study and promotion of Astafyev's work. In addition, the BMA is a true cultural center of the village of Ovsyanka. The folklore-ethnographic ensemble "Yeniseushka" operates at the BMA — the only group in Russia founded at a library. The members of the ensemble are long-time residents of Ovsyanka; they collected the old songs they now perform themselves. Some of these were recorded from V.P. Astafyev.
