\r\nThe Gelendzhik Historical and Local Lore Museum has a history of more than one hundred years. It all began on July 18, 1909, when the dacha owners of Solntsedar solemnly opened the museum in the watchman's hut of M. M. Reinke. Over the years the museum was closed and reopened several times. Today the museum presents various collections: archaeological, natural history, historical, ethnographic and others. The museum's structure also includes 9 scientific departments. The Gelendzhik Historical and Local Lore Museum is part of the tourist route "The Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom", where ancient cities were located in antiquity. Over the long years the museum collection was constantly replenished and restored, and now it contains more than 100,000 storage units.
