Ruarts Foundation for the Promotion of Contemporary Art
About museum
The Ruarts Foundation, founded by Marianna Sardarova in 2003, is one of the largest private foundations supporting contemporary art in Russia. Its collection is dominated by works of unofficial post-war art and contemporary Russian art. The foundation's new premises include exhibition halls, a library, an educational center, a bookshop, and a café. Marianna Sardarova created the foundation to shape public opinion about significant concepts of unofficial art and to provide access to its collection, which today numbers more than 2,000 works from various periods and media. The foundation's goal is to study, systematize, evaluate, and promote Russian art, as well as to make it accessible to audiences in Russia and abroad. Openness to change and new ideas, as well as engagement with audiences and professional communities, are among the foundation's core values.
