About museum
Educational events, competitions, exhibitions, and local history excursions are held at the museum. In 1987 the Elizovsky district local history branch of the regional local history museum was opened. In 2004, on its basis, the municipal cultural institution "Elizovsky Local History Museum" was created, which was later renamed the Elizovsky District Local History Museum. It comprises 19 collections, including archaeological, military-historical, ethnographic, natural science, fine arts, documentary fund, and others. There are two halls: an ethnography hall exhibiting everyday items of the Itelmens, and a nature hall presenting the local Kamchatka flora, fauna, minerals, and vegetation. The museum also organizes educational events, competitions, exhibitions, and local history excursions.
