House-museum of educator and artist I. P. Krymshamkhalov
About museum
In 1893 Prince I. P. Krymshamkhalov designed his domestic space as a guest house. He hosted such notable figures as Yaroshenko, Chaliapin, Sobinov, Rachmaninoff, Repin, Kuindzhi, Uspensky, Pavlov and Mendeleev. The house was incorporated into the museum complex of the State Karachay-Cherkess Historical, Cultural and Natural Museum-Reserve named after M. O. Baichorova. The main exhibition dedicated to the artist, his family and friends, and to cultural life at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries is located on the mansion's first floor. Here one can imagine leisurely conversations about music, literature and painting taking place around a plentiful table. The ethnographic hall presents truly unique exhibits from the personal belongings of Teberda's first dacha owners, original items of highlanders' clothing, handmade silk scarves, and more. Photographs from the 19th and early 20th centuries complete the atmosphere of Islam Pashaevich's house.
