Architectural and Ethnographic Museum 'Vasilevo'
About museum
On December 13, 1976, a museum created by the brilliant Russian architect N. A. Lvov was opened on the grounds of the former Lvov family estate. In Vasilevo a unique cascading hydraulic system and a boulder bridge, which is held together solely by gravity, were created. Unique examples of wooden architecture were brought from various districts of the Tver region, including churches, chapels, residential and farm buildings from the 18th–19th centuries. The museum's exhibits are divided into Central Russian and Northern Russian Karelian sectors. In the Central Russian sector you can see a typical peasant village, while the Northern Russian sector contains a Karelian house and granaries. The museum grounds host the annual 'Trinity Festivities' festival, where visitors can enjoy a variety of folk ensemble performances, presentations of national cuisines, games and competitions. In total the museum complex comprises 19 buildings.
