Dyatkovo District Museum of Local History
About museum
\n\nThe Museum of Military Glory was established in 1979 by initiator Olga Iosifovna Fless. It is dedicated to participants of the Great Patriotic War from Dyatkovo District. The exhibition in the first hall shows the beginnings of the partisan movement and the development of the struggle by partisans and the civilian population against the Nazi invaders. In 1942, 13 partisan detachments operated in the district, and on February 14 the partisans restored Soviet power. They controlled the Bryansk-Vyazma railway, as well as the Bryansk-Lyudinovo, Bryansk-Zhizdra, and Lyudinovo-Zhizdra highways. Dyatkovo District became the first Soviet district in territory occupied by the enemy. This had great strategic importance for the partisans.
