Exhibition "Peter I's Dutch House"
About museum
The museum-reserve houses an exhibition dedicated to the Little House in Zaandam, which Peter I visited in 1697. In two 42 sq. m rooms visitors can see restored fragments of the interior, including the fireplace and the bed used by Tsar Peter. Among the unique items is a forged 17th-century window hinge. The exhibition also features portraits of Peter I and Catherine I, graphic art, an icon of the Holy Mandylion (the "Image Not Made by Hands"), shipbuilding drawings and books, maps, and a model of a Dutch vessel. A ramp, audio guide and touch-screen kiosk are available for visitors, allowing them to learn about the history of Russia's Great Embassy to Western Europe.
