G.I. Uspensky House-Museum
About museum
The G.I. Uspensky House-Museum in the village of Syabrenitsy was opened in 1935 in the writer's house where he lived with his family in 1881–1882. From here Uspensky set off on his numerous travels across Russia. It is the only literary-memorial museum dedicated to the writer in the country. The museum presents a literary exhibition devoted to the life and work of G.I. Uspensky, as well as memorial rooms: the writer's study, the room of his wife A.V. Uspenskaya, the dining-living room, and the kitchen. The memorial exhibition displays personal belongings of the writer's family: an icon that belonged to his mother; a scarf; a hatbox; A.V. Uspenskaya's inkwell, made to a design by her eldest son; a set of upholstered furniture; drawings by A.G. Uspensky, the writer's eldest son.
