Blagoveshchensky Local History Museum
About museum
In 1965 the Blagoveshchensky Local History Museum was opened, located in a small two-storey building with an area of 187 sq. m. Currently it has four departments: the first, 'Life and Daily Life of the First Settlers', shows the history of the founding of Blagoveshchenka and the way of life of peasants in the early 20th century; the second, 'Military-Historical Department', tells about the participation of locals in all military conflicts in the country; the third, 'Department of Socio-Economic Development of the District in the Soviet and Modern Periods', is presented by displays showing the development of various sectors; and the fourth, 'Nature Department', presents the nature of the Kulunda Steppe using taxidermy specimens of foxes, partridges, buzzards, ground squirrels and ducks.
