About museum

In 1995 a delegation from the Birilyussky District took part in the II Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pacific region, where items of disappearing antiquity were presented. This prompted the district administration to create a museum of the history of the Birilyussky District, whose director was appointed Nadezhda Alexandrovna Laktionova. After four years of work by researchers and collectors, the museum was opened to visitors on June 11, 1999. In 2000 it was renamed the Novobirilyussky Local History Museum, and in 2005 it was reorganized into the Municipal Budgetary Cultural Institution "Birilyussky Local History Museum." It presents the history of settlement and historical events of the Birilyussky District since 1621 and comprises 5812 items in its museum collection.
