Archaeological Museum of Novomoskovsk
About museum
On May 14, 1999, the Archaeological Museum was opened in Novomoskovsk — the first branch of the Novomoskovsk Historical and Art Museum. It has two halls. One of them houses an exhibition dedicated to the history of the region from the Stone Age to the 17th century. The exhibits for it were collected by archaeologist Oleg Zaidov, and there are already more than 500. The small hall regularly hosts exhibitions featuring works by children from youth clubs, paintings, graphics, decorative and applied arts, and items from private collections. The museum holds evenings for various groups of the population: schoolchildren, boarding school residents, people with disabilities, and the elderly. The Novomoskovsk Literary Association also meets here, and the museum runs programs, master classes, and lectures on folklore. The staff's task is to maintain its attractiveness to visitors who come to learn about the history and culture of their region.
