Exhibition 'Young Design – 2024. Magic'

The CK19 Cultural Center presents the exhibition 'Young Design 2024. Magic.' The exhibition features over 100 art objects: graphic design, installations, photography, and video art.

'Young Design' is an annual youth exhibition project of the Novosibirsk regional branch of the Union of Designers of Russia. It is being held for the seventh time, showcasing the best works by promising Russian authors aged 18 to 35 in the CK19 halls. Last year's theme was toys, the year before that — New Year celebrations, and this year the exhibition is dedicated to magic.

The exhibition invites visitors to plunge into a world of the unknown and mysterious. This unique project presents works by creative young people who explore various aspects of magic — from sacred rituals to modern illusions. The exhibition's aim is to create a space where art and magic intersect, opening new horizons in the perception of reality.

"For the seventh year at the CK19 Cultural Center venue we have been presenting the annual 'Young Design' project! This year's theme, 'Magic,' is very multifaceted and ambiguous. It's interesting how differently the creators interpreted this topic. For them, magic is: time, space, Tarot cards, tricks and much more," clarifies curator Viktoria Babikova. "And what does magic mean to you?"

The 'Young Design' project was created in 2018 by novice curators with the aim of exploring Siberian design. The first project, on the theme 'Fresh design,' gave 30 young authors the opportunity to show their works on a professional exhibition platform. The next exhibition, themed 'Animals' in 2019, brought together more than 40 people from Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Krasnoyarsk. The third and fourth projects were staged under pandemic conditions: in 2020 the theme was '...and the bows remained,' and in 2021: 'GTO.'

All projects are traditionally implemented within their own distinct concepts. This is reflected in the details of the exhibition design, subthemes, emphases, and sometimes even the geographical affiliation of the participants.

This year's exhibition will be an inspiring experience for everyone — whether seasoned art connoisseurs or newcomers discovering the magic of creativity.
