Marx Street, formerly owned by merchant Karpov, was allocated for the museum. In 2002 the museum was moved to the building at 25 Lenina Street. Among the public, the exhibitions "Life of the Peasants of the Prichumyshye", "Soldiers of the Sorokinsk Region" and the "Soviet Period History Hall" are especially popular.
