Volokolamsk settlement is a monument of history and culture of the 11th–17th centuries, of federal significance. On its territory is the Volokolamsk Kremlin, an architectural ensemble including the Nikolsky Cathedral (19th century), the bell tower (18th century), the Exhibition Hall, the white-stone Resurrection Cathedral (15th century) and an architectural fence with turrets from the 19th–early 20th century. The Nikolsky Cathedral houses a museum that presents the history of the region from the 4th millennium BCE and interesting materials about the volok route, Slavic tribes and the Old Russian stage of the Volotsk principality. This place attracts tourists and historians from all over Russia.
