Vashkinsky District Local History Museum

\r\nIn the picturesque village of Lipin Bor, located on the shore of White Lake, stands the Vashkinsky District Local History Museum. It was opened in 1994 as the Center of Traditional Folk Culture and was transformed into a museum in 2006. It houses collections of archaeology, metalwork, wood, ceramics, textiles, numismatics, written documents and visual sources. The exhibitions include archaeology, blacksmithing, birch-bark items, pottery, the Russian izba (peasant house), an exhibition entitled 'Companion of a Woman's Fate', traditional folk costume, the Great Patriotic War, items of peasant household life, the House of Crafts and fishing on White Lake. The museum has gathered more than nine thousand exhibits that preserve the memories and traditions of the region.
