Tikhoretsk Historical and Local History Museum

The Tikhoretsk Historical and Local History Museum is one of the city's attractions. The building was constructed in 1902 for the Railway Public Assembly. The museum's founder is local historian-enthusiast, journalist, and World War II veteran Grigory Avksentyevich Dzekun. Since 1990 the museum has operated as a historical and local history museum. With an area of almost 600 sq. m, it houses five exhibition halls. The museum's holdings number more than 22,000 items across various collections. The museum has become an important monument to the history and culture of the city and region, where the heritage of the past is preserved and maintained.
