About museum
Surgut Art Museum was founded on November 1, 1992. Over the years it has attracted attention not only in the city, the district and in Russia, but also abroad. The museum's collections include Russian fine art of the late 19th–early 20th centuries, contemporary art of Siberia, the national art of the peoples of the North, archaeological collections from the 3rd–15th centuries, as well as a collection of ironic art (graphics, photography and sculpture). The museum has carried out many interesting and notable projects, such as the exhibitions 'Odin's Tinder? The Story of One Object', 'Those Who Saw the Face of Tarn', 'Open Storage. Middle Ob' in Bronze and Metal. 9th–14th centuries', the International Forum of Visual Humor 'Karikaturum', the photo project 'OBItateli', 'Vozvrashchenie v YAH' and many others. These projects have made the museum known not only in Russia but also abroad.
