In 1996 the Sunsky Local History Museum was established; in 2018 it moved to a new building. It has 4 exhibition halls, a collections repository and 10 permanent exhibitions. Up to 15 exhibitions can be held per year. In 2021 the number of exhibits exceeded 5,240 items. The museum features the exhibitions "Peasant Life and Crafts", "Faithful Sons of the Fatherland", "Tools of Peasant Labor", "School Classroom. History" and a model of an ancient village with windmills. Visitors can see collections of peasant household items from the 19th–20th centuries, as well as decorative and applied arts by local residents and traditional crafts. In addition, the museum presents the exhibition "The Sailor's Cap and the Faithful Pea Coat" from the Sunsky Club-Museum of Sailors, as well as the permanent exhibition "Vasnetsov Hall" — an art hall dedicated to the life and work of the artists from the Vasnetsov ancestral village.
