About museum
On the Sudak embankment there still stands the mansion of Fyodor Fyodorovich Funk, who managed the estate of Prince Konstantin Alekseevich Gorchakov, 'Arhaderesse'. It was built in 1913 and in 1930 was transferred to the seaport. In 1996 a fire occurred, after which the building was reconstructed. In 2005 an exhibition on the history of Sudak was established in the mansion. The first hall presents materials on the prehistoric period, archaeological finds and photos of the oldest archaeological monuments. The second hall covers the medieval period, and the third — Sudak as part of the Russian Empire. The fourth hall is devoted to the controversial 20th century, and the mansion hosts exhibitions, conferences and other significant events.
