About museum

In 1991, on the initiative of Tamara Georgievna Yashneva, the local history club "Istoki" was established on the basis of the Pioneer House, and in 1995 the Municipal City Museum was opened in the building of the former savings bank. It is the only place in the town and the Pokhvistnevo District where one can learn about the history of the native land. The museum features exhibits as well as temporary exhibitions that are periodically updated. Interactive classes, lectures, guided tours and tourist trips are held here. The museum's organizers work on the cataloging, preservation and study of historical items and cultural heritage sites. Recently the museum has taken part in various competitions, including the "Changing Museum in a Changing World" competition (2010), the "City of Wind" project, a city grant for the implementation of the social project "So That They Remember!" and the III social projects competition of PJSC Lukoil in the "Ecology" category with the project "Open-Air Museum".
