Solikamsk Local History Museum invites everyone to learn about the history and culture of Solikamsk and Perm Krai. The museum was founded in 1929 and is one of the largest in Perm Krai. In the 1930s it was planned to create a complex of museums on its basis. Today the museum is located in six buildings, five of which are architectural monuments of the 17th–19th centuries of federal and regional significance. The museum's collections comprise more than 88,000 storage units, and the scope of the collections covers the main topics for the comprehensive study of the city's and region's historical and cultural heritage. At the museum you can learn about the history of Solikamsk and Perm Krai, the natural world, Old Russian art, and the Gallery of House Painting of Prikamye. The museum's exhibition halls include a viewing platform on the Cathedral bell tower, from which you can admire the city from a bird's-eye view.
