The Sharinsky Local History Museum is a branch of the Kostroma State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve. Its history began in 1991, when a former outerwear studio was transferred to the museum. The museum features exhibits dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, the Vetluzhsky uyezd and the nature of the Sharinsky district. In addition, there is an exhibition about the family of the thermo-chemist V. F. Luginin and other types of art. Tours, concerts, master classes and other events are held here. The museum also operates a publishing house that publishes books about the Sharinsky district.
