Rovensky Local History Museum
About museum
Rovensky Local History Museum was opened on November 6, 1978 in two rooms of an old building that had previously housed the shop of merchant Ivan Ivanovich Bondarevsky. Over the years the museum was moved to several buildings in the settlement, and in 2008 it was returned to a restored two-story building. During this time many interesting items and documentary sources on the history of Rovensky District were collected. The museum features halls dedicated to different periods of the region's life. In 2016 two exhibition halls were opened where works by artists, photographers, folk craftsmen, creatively gifted children, as well as traveling and permanent exhibitions are constantly displayed. The museum conducts scholarly research; attendance is growing and the number of new acquisitions is increasing. Historical quest games, interactive museum lessons, meetings with fellow countrymen, excursions and master classes on traditional crafts are also organized.
