Republican Museum of Fine Arts
About museum
The Republican Museum of Fine Arts is the successor to the Republican Exhibition Hall, which was opened on August 17, 1981. The museum building has three floors, which allow for a dynamic exhibition space. The museum's collection consists of Mari visual, decorative and applied arts, Russian painting, graphics and sculpture from the late 19th to the early 21st centuries, as well as Western European painting and graphics. The holdings include the contemporary trend of Finno-Ugric visual art — ethno-futurism and ethno-symbolism. In October 2018 the museum's façade was decorated with graffiti inspired by the sights of Yoshkar-Ola. Here you can not only learn about art but also acquire unique pieces.
