Permanent ethnographic exhibition in the village of Vasilievskoye
About museum
Vasilievskoye is an ancient village located in a beautiful forested region, divided by the Persha River. A beautiful church was built here in 1761, and it was decided to restore it in 2015. The village hosted folk trades and crafts such as cooperage, tool- and shovel-making, riveting/clenching, the manufacture of carts and sleighs, the weaving of lapti (bast shoes), weaving, spinning, knitting and embroidery. In the village center you can visit the ethnographic exhibition and see interesting exhibits such as tools, tableware, furniture, household items, coins, paintings, embroideries, musical instruments and old photographs, as well as learn about the revival of folk traditions, crafts and trades.
