Department 'Archaeology and Local History', Dubna
About museum
The city museum presents the history of the Dubna region from ancient times to the present day. The exhibition includes various sections: paleontology, archaeology, ethnography, as well as recent history, covering the construction of the canal and the 'Tridtsatka', the wartime years, and the creation of the first Dubna accelerators and the scientific settlement. Particularly interesting are the archaeological finds made from different materials: ancient tools, weapons, ceramics, stone ornaments, bronze, iron, glass, etc. Especially valuable are the finds from the Old Russian town of Dubna (12th–early 13th century), among them seals and lead sealings of Russian princes, items of warriors' armament, wearable crosses, icons and jewelry.
