About museum

In 1974 the Ordyn local history museum was founded; eight years later it received the honorary title 'People's'. Today its collection comprises more than six thousand items illustrating the nature and history of the Ordyn land. The exhibition includes a copper cauldron of the Siberian Khanate, a weaving loom dated 1886, and the antique writing desk and chair of the merchant Kutkin. The museum hosts painting and applied arts exhibitions, art lectures, children's folk festivals, and lessons in courage and local history.
