Novouzensk Local History Museum
About museum
Novouzensk Local History Museum is located in a two-story wooden building constructed in 1902. Over the years it housed a school, the reception ward of the zemstvo hospital, the district Komsomol committee and the Pioneer House. In 1980 the museum became a branch of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore, and approximately 8,000 storage units were allocated for exhibits. The exhibition features numismatic items, documents and photographic materials, ethnographic objects, and archaeological and natural collections representing the nature and wildlife of the district. The museum holds quizzes and conferences for senior students, and museum staff participate in city and district events and celebrations.
