About museum

The Balabanovo City History Museum is part of the Balabanovo City House of Culture. It conducts research, collects, preserves, and promotes information related to the history of the Kaluga region and Balabanovo. The museum opened on September 5, 2016. It presents more than 1,400 exhibits arranged in 6 exhibition halls. The museum hosts various events to explore the history of Balabanovo and the Borovsky District. The museum's history began in 2000, but for several years it could not find a permanent location. This changed in 2015, when the museum moved to Dzerzhinsky Street. The museum now occupies an area of 335.2 square meters.
