Neysky Local History Museum
About museum
In 1987–1989 a building was constructed for the museum. It was intended to serve as a home for the staff of the Neysky Household Services Department. However, in connection with the anniversary — the 60th anniversary of the Neysky District (May 28, 1929) — it was decided to open a local history museum there. The ceremonial opening took place on June 10, 1989; the museum operated on a voluntary basis until January 1, 1990. Afterwards it became a branch of the Kostroma United Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve 'Ipatiev Monastery'. In 2005 the museum joined the Kostroma State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve. In 2018 the municipal state institution "Neysky Local History Museum" was established. It features permanent exhibitions such as "Everyday Life and Ethnography", "Residents of Neya during the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945", "Porcelain Collection", and others.
