About museum
The People's Museum "Land and People" is a structural subdivision of MBUK "Centralized Library System" of the Komsomolsky District of the Chuvash Republic. It was established in 1989 at the initiative of teacher, local historian, and Honored Worker of Culture B. G. Kokorev. It was opened on a voluntary basis and was located in the building of the "Kĕtne" hotel.
At present, the People's Museum "Land and People" has 2,304 items in the main collection and 602 items in the scientific and auxiliary fund. The total area of the museum is 205.5 sq. m and consists of 8 exhibition halls: vestibule, "Nature", "From the Depths of Centuries", "Ethnography", "The Great Patriotic War", socio-economic hall, exhibition hall, and the Hall of Memory and Gratitude.
The guide acquaints visitors with the history of the formation of the village of Komsomolskoye and the Komsomolsky District, and tells about the nature, everyday life and traditions of the population, as well as the labor and heroic deeds of natives of the Komsomolsky District. During tours and lectures, museum staff strive to cultivate in visitors respect for monuments of history and culture, for human labor and its creations, and an awareness of their social significance, aesthetic value, and the need to preserve these relics for future generations.
