Museum branch of the Intersettlement Cultural and Leisure Center, Krasny Chikoy village
About museum
On December 30, 1982, a museum branch of the municipal cultural and leisure institution (MKDC) was opened in the village of Krasny Chikoy. It was founded by Great Patriotic War veteran Nikolai Vasilievich Gladkikh. He built the building of the former parish school in 1888 at his own expense and donated it to the rural community. In 1990 the museum was granted People's status, and in 1997 it was named after its founder, Nikolai Vasilievich Gladkikh. Since 2008 the 'Gladkov Readings' scientific-practical conferences have been held here, and the museum also participates in regional museum festivals. The folklore ensemble 'Museum Mosaic', led by Tatyana Vitalievna Loskutnikova, operates at the museum. They engage in reviving and authentically reproducing Old Believer folklore, and by drawing on the cultural heritage of the Semey people they have developed their own distinctive stage persona.
