About museum
In 1980 a historical and cultural museum-educational center was opened in Segezha; it originally began as a school museum. It is located in one of the city's oldest buildings. It features three permanent exhibitions: "Culture of Vygozerye", which introduced visitors to the local way of life based on the ethnographic essay by M. M. Prishvin "In the Land of Untamed Birds"; "The Heart of the City — the Plant", presenting the history of the construction and development of the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill (Segezhsky PPM) and the city of Segezha; and "Segezha at the Front", dedicated to the tragic pages of the Great Patriotic War.
