The exhibits on display illustrate the Khanty people's daily life, rituals, festivals, art and other aspects of life. The museum also hosts various events and activities. On August 31, 1996, the Museum and Exhibition Center was opened in the city of Langepas and became an ethnography museum. The initial exhibition included 220 items of the Khanty people provided by amateur ethnographer Vasily Dmitrievich Krutskyevich. Today the Museum and Exhibition Center is located in a new three-storey building with modern facilities, offering visitors a comfortable and interesting visit. The museum's collections include more than 11,000 items, and the ethnography hall displays exhibits of Khanty daily life, rituals, art and other aspects of their culture. Various events and activities are also regularly held at the museum.
