Museum and Hotel Complex 'Pozharsky Hotel'
About museum
The Pozharsky Hotel was located on the busy 'Gosudarev Road' of the 19th century, which connected the two capitals. Its founder was the coachman Dmitry Pozharsky, and the hotel was made famous by his daughter Darya, who had talents in entrepreneurship, hospitality, and diplomacy. Notable guests stayed here, including Emperor Nicholas I. The building was restored in the 21st century and has survived to this day. Academician D. S. Likhachev called the hotel 'the center of 19th-century Russian culture.' Today you can visit the museum complex here, where exhibitions, literary and musical evenings, book presentations, tours, conferences, and festivals are held. A historical 'Warsaw Shop' has also opened here, where you can buy handmade crafts and accessories. On Saturdays guests can try the famous Pozharsky cutlets. Thus, the Pozharsky Hotel is an integral part of Russian culture.
