Sergievskaya Kitchen Museum
About museum
In June 2018 the Sergievskaya Kitchen Museum was opened, presenting a collection of kitchen household items from the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. In total there are about 2,000 exhibits located in four halls: cast-iron stoves, mechanisms and other devices for food preparation; cookbooks; and tableware made of porcelain, glass, copper, etc. In the museum café visitors can try dishes prepared according to historical recipes and purchase souvenirs to remember the museum or the town. A theatrical guided tour is also offered, during which guests learn about cooking without modern conveniences, observe the production of handmade caramel, and take part in a master class on making landrins. At the end of the tour guests drink tea from a samovar with freshly made landrins.
