A.P. Averkina Museum of Russian Song
About museum
In 2000 the A.P. Averkina Museum of Russian Song was opened, located in a former merchant's mansion in the city center. It is the only museum in Russia combining memorial and musical directions. In 2001 the museum was named after A.P. Averkina — a local native, composer and Honored Art Worker of Russia. It includes a unique and comprehensive collection of 2,000 items donated by the composer's wife, G. V. Averkina. The museum's exhibitions include: 'Festival Hall', 'Sound Reproduction Equipment Hall', 'Hall dedicated to composer A.P. Averkina', and the 'Song Chamber'. The museum preserves a traditional structure and has its own development concept.
