About museum
In December 2020, the Museum of the Development of Electric Networks of the Moscow Region was opened in honor of the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the GOELRO Plan. It features 8 interactive zones that recount important historical periods of the energy sector and turning points in Russia's history. Visitors can explore the content independently using a modern presentation format. The collection and preparation of the exhibition took several years of work in archives and private collections. The museum displays 120 unique exhibits and more than 3,000 archival photographs and documents that tell the story of the formation of the energy sector and the development of technologies in Moscow and the Moscow Region since the early 19th century. The museum hosts career-guidance events for students and educational quests for schoolchildren in grades 5–11. The museum is also an active venue for the 'Museums. Parks. Estates.' Olympiad.
