Museum 'Napolnaya School in the town of Alapaevsk'
About museum
'Napolnaya School' was the last place of residence in exile for members of the Russian Imperial House from May 20 to July 18, 1918, before their tragic deaths. They were killed at the Meznaya mine by representatives of the Soviet authorities. Since the 1980s, in Alapaevsk people have paid tribute and venerated the heroic sacrifice of the grand-ducal martyrs. In 2003 a memorial room dedicated to the holy venerable-martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna was opened in the Napolnaya School building. In 2018, thanks to the joint efforts of the Fund for the Revival of Traditions of Mercy and Charity 'Elisavetinsko-Sergiev Enlightenment Society' and the Sverdlovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after O.E. Kler (SOKM), with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Ministry of Culture of the Sverdlovsk Region, and the administration and Duma of the city of Alapaevsk, a unique museum exhibition was created that tells not only of the tragic deaths but also of the remarkable life paths of the Alapaevsk martyrs.
