Museum 'World of Talking Machines'
About museum
In Khabarovsk Krai there is the 'World of Talking Machines' museum — the only place dedicated to the history of sound recording and music. It was opened on June 26, 2018, based on the collection of Andrey and Evgenia Veretennikovs, which contains record players, records, gramophones, and radios from the 1880s to the 1990s. Here visitors can learn about the everyday life of residents of the Russian Far East and their family music-listening traditions. The museum hosts guided tours, vinyl evenings, and museum concerts. Three themed halls tell the story of achievements in sound recording, from 'wonder-machines' to Japanese tape recorders and CDs. Working exhibits provide the opportunity to hear the true voice of the past.
