The memorial museum-apartment of painting academician A. M. Vasnetsov is part of the All-Russian museum association "State Tretyakov Gallery." It is located in Moscow, Furmanny Lane, house 6, in apartments No. 21–22, on the third floor of a four-story building constructed in the early 20th century. Here lived, worked and died the great Russian artist and Moscow historian A. M. Vasnetsov. In 1956 the 100th anniversary of his birth was observed, and the Moscow public petitioned the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR to recreate his home studio. The city authorities provided significant assistance in implementing this project. Since 1997 the museum has welcomed visitors from across Russia and abroad. Today the museum's collection consists of 8,500 items and visitors can view the home studio, the memorial interiors of the late 19th–early 20th century, and the multifaceted artistic work of Apollinary Vasnetsov.
