The 'Earth–Space' Local History Museum of the Nikolaevsky District is a multifunctional non-profit institution that carries out cultural-educational and research activities. It was opened in 1986 and initially belonged to the Volgograd Regional Museum of Local Lore, then came under the jurisdiction of the Nikolaevsky Committee for Culture, and in 2011 became a legal entity. The museum houses the literary department 'House of M. A. Sholokhov' and four permanent exhibitions: 'Space in Human Life', 'The Great Rank-and-File', 'Local History', and 'Sholokhov on the Volga'. The museum also presents collections from various Russian museums and private collections. A variety of events are held here: lectures, meetings with notable figures, concerts, film screenings, and exhibitions. The museum invites everyone to learn about the cultural heritage of the Nikolaevsky District.
