Vorontsovka Village History Museum
About museum
The Vorontsovka Village History Museum is housed in a small house surrounded by a park and invites visitors to experience living history. It preserves old documents, manuscripts, books, legends, oral traditions, household items and much more. The village of Vorontsovka was founded by Count Illarion Gavrilovich Vorontsov in 1745 and later attracted the attention of F. I. Panferov, who used local residents as prototypes for the characters in his novel 'Bruski'. The museum has several halls dedicated to the village's pre-revolutionary and post-revolutionary past, as well as to the Great Patriotic War and the postwar period. During a tour, museum staff give detailed accounts of the struggle for the commune, nature, rural life and other topics.
