Museum of the History of the Russian Scarf and Shawl
About museum
In 2002, a unique museum dedicated to the history of the Russian scarf and shawl was opened in the town of Pavlovsky Posad. The idea to open it belongs to local resident Vladimir Fyodorovich Shishenin, and the museum's main exhibits became scarves, shawls, women's headdresses and household items from the 18th–20th centuries, which he collected over many years. The museum features numerous scarves and shawls made from various materials, with gold embroidery and printed patterns. The museum also displays commemorative scarves produced to mark important state events. At the museum you will learn many interesting things about the role of the scarf in a woman's life, and you will be able to appreciate the beauty and variety of the exhibits and understand their scientific value.
