About museum

The ancient Romans said, "Where people are, there are rules," and this remains true today. With the development of the state and society, law enforcement agencies were established in Karelia to ensure the protection of the population and state interests. The Museum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karelia was founded in 1985 and presents the exhibition "History of Law Enforcement in Karelia. 17th–21st centuries." The exhibition includes more than a thousand items, documents, and photographs. In addition, the museum conducts research, publishes informational bulletins, and takes part in various seminars, conferences, excursions, and other events.
