Kronstadt History Museum
About museum
The Kronstadt Museum invites you to travel through time and learn about the 310-year history of this fortress-city. You will learn about the construction of forts and urban buildings, the everyday life of sailors and townspeople, and the traditions characteristic of Kronstadt. Special attention is paid to the tragic events of the early 20th century: the revolutions, the Civil War, the Intervention, and the Kronstadt uprising. The museum features a reconstruction of a blockade room, original items and photographs that show the city's heroic feat and life in the postwar period. Here you can see many unusual objects, models of ships and submarines. This people's museum was created through the efforts of local enthusiasts in 1991, and residents participated in its formation by donating their family heirlooms to the museum.
