On March 1, 2000, the Museum of History and Culture was opened. It carries out activities to identify, acquire, preserve, record, study and promote objects of history and culture in order to promote and popularize local history and the history of the region. At present the museum's collections include 8,000 items related to Russian everyday life, the ethnography of the Khanty people, archaeology, numismatics and applied arts and crafts. The museum's goal is to preserve spiritual traditions and material culture, thereby enriching the spiritual wealth of citizens. Museum services are provided in a warm atmosphere of kindness and respect for all visitors, regardless of their social, age or educational group.
